SAN FRANCISCO, CA - November 9, 2010

Rixty, the leading cash-based alternative payment platform for online games, virtual goods and digital content, today announced the rollout of Rixty branded gift cards into Kmart, JCPenney, Kroger and Kroger Co. owned stores (Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer and others) across the United States. Rixty cards are available for immediate purchase in all Kroger and Kroger owned retail locations. Cards will appear in Kmart and select JCPenney stores by Thanksgiving, making it even easier for consumers to give the gift of online games and entertainment this holiday season.

Rixty’s innovative payment solution allows users to quickly and safely buy digital content across the Web without the need for a credit or debit card. With hundreds of supported online destinations, including a vast array of the hottest online social games, MMO's, and streaming audio and video content, Rixty doesn’t restrict users to just one game or website. Rixty can also be used to purchase credits in the top social networks, allowing players to engage with the most popular social games of the season.

The Rixty card is perfect for both kids ages six and up and adults to use safely. It is the only prepaid card that is third-party certified as compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), making Rixty a great gift for the entire family.

“We designed the Rixty prepaid card to make giving online entertainment easy, flexible and convenient,” said Rixty CEO Ted Sorom. “With hundreds of supported sites, gift givers can feel confident that the Rixty card will be the right choice for their loved ones. We are proud to expand the convenience of our product with cards in Kmart, Kroger, and JCPenney stores just in time for holiday shopping.”

In addition to the new retailers, consumers can buy Rixty credit using loose change and bills at thousands of other locations across the country. Users can enter their zip code on the Rixty site to find a comprehensive list of nearby Rixty locations.
