Rhythm Heaven Gold tops quiet Japanese chart

Nintendo platform titles dominate top ten in a low-selling week

Rhythm Heaven Gold for the Nintendo DS was top of the Japanese software chart for the week ending September 7, according to the latest data from Media Create.

It sold 55,000 units in a week where only three titles sold above 20,000, and total unit sales for the entire top ten was just 220,000.

Wii Fit was second with 32,000 followed by the only new entry in the top ten, Blue Dragon Plus from AQ Interactive.

The PlayStation 3's Afrika was fourth, followed by the second of only two non-Nintendo platforms in the list, J-League Winning Eleven: 2008 Club Championship.

The Nintendo DS was responsible for the next three positions, with Fire Emblem: New Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light, Dragon Quest V and Daigasso! Band Brothers in sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.

Mario Kart Wii was in ninth place, and Inazuma Eleven from Level 5 rounded out the top ten.
