Retro Gamer partners with Nintendo for exclusive Wii cover

Imagine joins forces with Nintendo to promote the multi-million pound launch of its next-generation console

On Thursday 9 November, issue 31 of Retro Gamer goes on sale across the UK and the world with a unique illustrated cover by highly respected artist Wil Overton to celebrate the arrival of Nintendos next-generation console, the Wii.

Nintendos Wii has already captured the imagination of gamers worldwide thanks to its innovative control method, classic gaming characters and the addition of the Virtual Console, which will enable Wii owners to download some of the very best retro games ever made from Super Mario Bros to Sonic the Hedgehog.

To fully capture the essence of both the new console and Nintendos well-known characters, there was only ever one person capable of producing a worthy cover Wil Overton. Now working at Rare, Overtons art style is synonymous with Nintendo due to his past work on the covers of the highly revered Nintendo magazine Super Play, and thanks to recent collaborations with Retro Gamer his unique art is once again gracing a UK games magazine.

Its great to see Wils fantastic art recapturing the spirit of Nintendo, said Darran Jones, Editor of Retro Gamer. Wils wonderful work has blessed our covers a number of times since the triumphant return of everyones favourite retro magazine, but I genuinely feel that this time hes managed to outdo himself.

Retro Gamer is the UKs only magazine that is fully dedicated to retro gaming and is highly respected within both the games industry and the retrogaming community. Imagine Publishing, owner of Retro Gamer, was formed in May 2005, and is the one of the UKs fastest growing magazine publishers.
