Resolution Games closes $25m Series C funding round

Investment to support development of higher quality VR and AR games and expand intellectual property

Today, VR and AR game developer Resolution Games announced that it has closed $25 million in a Series C funding round.

The company said it will use the investment to raise the quality of its games and expand its intellectual property.

The funding round was led by Qualcomm Ventures LLC, Bitkraft Ventures, and Knutsson Holdings AB.

Additional investments came from GV, MizMaa Ventures, GP Bullhound, Partech, Creandum, Initial Capital, Bonnier Ventures and Sisu Game Ventures, all of whom had already invested in Resolution previously.

"We see vast potential in VR and that the market is maturing," said Tommy Palm, CEO of Resolution Games.

"We want to up the game and standard for quality to ensure VR users have the best possible experience, and that VR games not just meet -- but surpass -- the potential from what we've seen on other platforms like PC and console."

Along with the investment the VR company shared that senior investment director of Qualcomm Ventures Europe and Qualcomm Israel, Boaz Peer, will join its board of directors.

Additionally, founding general partner of Bitkraft Ventures, Malte Barth will serve as a board observer.
