CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment Expo-San Francisco, October 25, 2004 - Today, Reaxion Corp., a leading developer and publisher of mobile games, entertainment and communication applications, releases Gamarama and Gamarama.com. Gamarama is a hosted multiplayer system available for licensing from Reaxion that allows game developers to add multiplayer, matchmaking and ranking functionality to their existing single-player mobile games and build communities around their games. According to Mobile Games Analyst, adding multiplayer functionality opens up the opportunity to build a long-term revenue stream from a single game title while creating a loyal community of customers.
Gamarama.com is Reaxion's proof-of-concept gaming community enabled by the Gamarama platform. Gamers can compete, find information about Reaxion's games, manage their account and interact with other gamers, including taking part in polls and other community activities. Reaxion games currently available on Gamarama.com include multiplayer versions of Fight Hard 3D Arena, Yetisports Part 1 - Pingu Throw and Pax Athletica for BREW-enabled handset users. Reaxion plans to ship additional titles to Gamarama.com later this year.
"Creating communities around a game is the best way to build a loyal following for it and increase revenues," according to Misha Lyalin, Reaxion's CEO. "Using Gamarama makes the addition of multiplayer and community functionality a much simpler process for developers."
For developers and carriers, Gamarama's multiplayer service offers a seamless way to tap into the lucrative multiplayer gaming market. In addition to enabling multiplayer, matchmaking and ranking functionality, Gamarama provides manual or automatic user authentication, stores individual player profiles for each game, reports game results from handset to server and offers disconnected multiplayer for SMS and direct connection messaging.
