ReadyUp closes $2 million seed funding round

Esports team management and connection platform enters closed beta as round closes

Esports player and team connection platform ReadyUp has announced the completion of a seed funding around totaling $2 million ahead of its beta launch.

The funding round was lead by blockchain and virtual reality accelerator company Boost VC. Other investors include Fenwick & West, Smith & Crown, and other individual investors throughout the gaming, esports, venture capital, finance, sports, and other industries.

ReadyUp's closed beta hopes to provide a platform for both amateur and professional esports players, teams, and clans to connect with one another, monetize playing, manage teams, and offer and receive coaching in various games.

"ReadyUp will change competitive video gaming and esports on a fundamental level," said former Wargaming America president Jay Cohen. "By providing an on-ramp for gamer connection, player development, and competition, ReadyUp lets every gamer, team, and the esports industry as a whole to reach their full potential. The ReadyUp platform will not only accelerate the path to revenue for players, teams, and partners, it is the spark for the wildfire that is waiting to happen."
