Quazal Releases Rendez-Vous '06 and Net-Z '06

New version of Rendez-Vous combines with Spark! for unmatched ease-of-use.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MONTRÉAL, CANADA - March 22nd, 2006 - Quazal, the leading independent provider of online multiplayer components for PCs and consoles games, today releases new versions of Quazal Rendez-Vous®, the highly acclaimed and highly flexible lobby and matchmaking service, and Net-Z®, the award-winning in-game networking solution for 2006.

The most visible addition to Rendez-Vous 2006 is its interface into the new Quazal offering, Quazal Spark!. By combining Quazal Rendez-Vous with Spark!, developers can get a major jumpstart on their lobby development, letting them exploit generalized features such as full account management, friends list, matchmaking and statistics in a matter of days.

"Rendez-Vous has always been known for its flexibility, its extensibility, and now it will also be known for its easy development and integration," said Martin Lavoie, CTO at Quazal. "Using feedback from our existing partners and teams in evaluation, we gathered a list of features that would satisfy a majority of games, and set out to provide these for developers to use with minimal effort. We've succeeded with this new release."

While the interface between Rendez-Vous and Spark! drastically eases developers implementation time, it does not limit Rendez-Vous' extensibility. By using the features of Spark! as a template, developers can easily see how to extend these features out to cover more advanced functionality, thereby significantly lowering the learning curve for developing additional and advanced features with Rendez-Vous. Developers looking to add unique elements to their online lobby systems can quickly learn how to exploit the concepts in Rendez-Vous in an efficient manner, rapidly developing features that their end users will love, and integrating them quickly into their existing Spark! UI.

"Whether you're a developer doing a single integration, or a publisher looking for a cross-title solution, Rendez-Vous will fit the bill," said Mike Drummelsmith, Developer Relations Manager at Quazal. "With the new features in this version of Rendez-Vous, and the incredible implementation benefits of Quazal Spark!, your lobby can be up and running remarkably quickly, giving peace of mind, and leaving plenty of time for extended features if so desired."

Quazal's Net-Z in-game networking solution also joins Rendez-Vous in its new naming convention, with Net-Z 2006. Through combined use of these technologies, developers and publishers can benefit from the industry's best NAT traversal for peer-to-peer gaming, ensuring the highest connectivity for their users.

Quazal will be occupying booth #644 at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, March 22nd to 24th. Any interested parties are encouraged to contact info@quazal.com in order to arrange a meeting, or to simply stop by the booth to learn more about our products.
