pureLIGHT

Advanced lighting solution for gaming engines hoping to shine through.

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, June 11th, 2009 - pureLIGHT Technologies is pleased to announce the availability of pureLIGHT, an advanced lighting solution for gaming engines. For the past two years pureLIGHT has delivered photorealistic lighting in complex simulations and architectural visualizations. Now it is available for use with Torque 3D, GarageGames' flagship game engine.

pureLIGHT is a global illumination solution with advanced workflow features making it more attractive than competitive products at a fraction of the cost. Currently, most lighting products employ a "click and hope" approach with no opportunity for the user to view their lighting set up while light maps are being generated. This can lead to hours or even days of final product uncertainty. pureLIGHT offers a real time iterative detailed viewing of light maps as they are generated, thus allowing users to adjust settings while lighting is in progress. Users can employ other powerful features:

pureLIGHT automatically unwraps models with flexible options for the best lighting model for any type of geometry.

pureLIGHT supports popular 3D applications such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, XSI, or any program that will export in the Collada standard.

pureLIGHT can produce professional quality results with a minimum amount of experience.

pureLIGHT supports multi-core rendering to make the most of modern hardware.

"When we saw where GarageGames was going with Torque 3D we immediately knew that pureLIGHT was a perfect fit for developers in their community. We knew that to make it work, we'd have to offer our technology at a price that would also fit into modest budgets," said Dave Chan of pureLIGHT Technologies. "We worked with the great staff at GarageGames to come up with a model that accommodates developers with budgets on any scale. We expect the community of Torque developers will love the combination of pureLIGHT and Torque 3D."

"Meeting the pureLIGHT guys for the first time, we knew they'd be an excellent match for our philosophy on games and technology," said Brett Seyler, GarageGames' VP of Business Development. "Seeing pureLIGHT in action, it was clear this would be a fantastic tool in the hands of Torque developers. "

pureLIGHT will be available for at a significant savings for Torque 3D licensees from the GarageGames site in June. Torque 3D is currently in beta and available for pre-order from GarageGames.com.
