PS Plus fees to rise in South Africa, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and India

PlayStation has no current plan to raise US prices

Sony is raising the price of its subscription service, PlayStation Plus, across a number of territories.

"We slightly increased prices for PlayStation Plus in South Africa, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and India regions due to various market conditions," a Sony spokesperson told Joystiq.

"Currently, price adjustments are not being planned for PS Plus in the SCEA [North American] region."

An email sent to South African users and seen by GameInformer showed an increase from R145 to R219 for a three month subscription, (a 51 per cent rise) and an increase from R489 to R749 for the annual subscription, a 53 per cent leap.
