Pocket Gamer

Winning mobile games announced.

London, UK – 1 st March 2011 – Forget the Academy Awards and focus instead on the fact Pocket Gamer has unveiled the winners of the site’s 2011 awards at a special event at GDC in San Francisco.

Judged by the PG team, the awards cover a number of key categories across the iPhone & iPod touch, Android, WP7, Java, iPad, DS and PSP formats, and reflect the very best of portable gaming to have emerged last year.

The winners were picked – after much arguing and a gruelling round of jousting – from the list of finalists revealed last week ( http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Various/Pocket+Gamer+Awards/feature.asp?c=27752) and their overall quality showcases what an excellent year for portable gaming 2010 turned out to be.

As you might expect, deciding on the eventual winners from such an illustrious selection pushed the PG crew to the very edge of sanity but, remarkably, the majority of team members survived to fulfill their destiny. The resulting selection spans a broad range of titles, from seasoned gamer favourites such as DoDonPachi Resurrection, Chaos Rings and GoW: Ghost of Sparta to accessible, all-encompassing hits such as Cut the Rope, Osmos and ilomilo.

Yet it’s not just games. Developers and publishers also get recognition, with Hemisphere Games, Hexage, Gameloft and EA Mobile also going home with a shiny glass trophy.

You’ll find the full list of winners here: http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Various/Pocket+Gamer+Awards/feature.asp?c=27888
