Pocket Gamer Awards

Winners unveiled at San Francisco event.

For Immediate Release

London, UK – 11th March 2010 – Steel Media is proud to reveal the winners of the first Pocket Gamer Awards, which celebrate the stars of portable gaming of 2009 as judged by the PG editorial team.

“We're very pleased to announce the winners of the inaugural Pocket Gamer Awards,” said Rob Hearn, Pocket Gamer’s editor. “It was very tough to whittle down shortlists from hundreds of outstanding games, let alone pick the ultimate winners, but we're confident that these represent the very best 2009 had to offer in terms of innovation, gameplay, design, and sheer quality.”

The results of the Pocket Gamer Awards 2010 – which can be viewed here [http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Various/Pocket+Gamer+Awards/feature.asp?c=19034] – were announced yesterday evening at GDC, during a special event in San Francisco’s Harlot bar made possible due to party co-sponsors Scoreloop and Mplayit.

The awards don’t end there, however. Still running are the Pocket Gamer Readers’ Choice Awards 2010, in which readers are able to vote for their favourite game of the year on either iPhone, mobile or handheld. Voting will remain open until the end of March, with the winners announced at the beginning of April.
