April 06, 2006 (Renton, Wash.) - VISIONS, the classic card set from the Magic: The Gathering Trading Card Game (TCG), is launching this month as the latest expansion set for Magic Online published by Wizards of the Coast, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS). VISIONS will launch Monday, April 10 at 9 a.m. PST. Release events for the new set will start on April 13.

VISIONS was originally released in 1997 as a companion set to Mirage for Magic: The Gathering. Magic Online's Mirage set released in December of last year. The set contains 167 cards including long-time fan favorites like Vampiric Tutor, Nekrataal and Chronatog. In addition, VISIONS will also feature four theme decks designed by the Magic: The Gathering R&D team exclusively for this set - Savage Stompdown, Unnatural Forces, Legion of Glory and Wild-Eyed Frenzy.

Release events for VISIONS will feature two new avatars. All participants in VISIONS Leagues and Premier Events will receive the Nekrataal avatar, with winners receiving the Chronatog avatar.

With the release of VISIONS, players will have a variety of new game mechanics to play with.

- Alternate casting cost spells -- Play spells without paying their mana cost

- Phasing and flanking -- New twists on the Mirage mechanics

"The addition of our second vintage set, VISIONS, cements our commitment to support some of the most beloved sets from Magic's 13 year history and is a great opportunity for us to create excitement with both new and old players alike," said Justin Ziran, brand manager for Magic Online at Wizards of the Coast.

VISIONS will be released in 75-card Tournament Packs (MSRP $11.29), Theme Decks (MSRP $11.29) and 15-card boosters (MSRP $3.69).
