Player X signs up for PrizePlay(TM) mobile games

Mobile media company Player X and Sennari, a company that specialises in CRM-based applications for mobile phones, have joined forces to bring a PrizePlay TM element to Player X's raft of TV gameshow mobile games.

Player X will shortly launch its ELSPA Top 10 mobile game Family Fortunes as the first game in a series of PrizePlayTM gameshows. Players will be able to pay per play with game tokens to earn points that are redeemable in game for prizes including digital goods, physical goods and even cash.

Players download the game inclusive of starter tokens. Additional tokens are then bought in buckets and a bundle of £5 includes two extra tokens. PrizePlayTM games give players the chance to win merchandise, such as digital downloads, electronic goods and high street retail gift certificates or just take the cash.

"The TV Gameshows titles are confirmed evergreen titles and two top positions in the 2006 ELPSA charts underline this. PrizePlayTM is a perfect way of evolving the franchise and the game format is perfect for a play-to-win model," said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.

The game will be available on all major UK operator decks in Q1 07 and will then roll it out globally. Other gameshow titles such as Blockbusters and The Price Is Right will shortly be released with PrizePlayTM capabilities.

The news comes shortly after Player X's recent second round of venture capital funding that raised $10 million for rapid expansion and to accelerate its global content strategy across mobile TV, video and games.
