Player X Brings Alien Hominid To Mobile

New Home On Mobile For Award-Winning Title – 10,000,000 Online Players Can't Be Wrong

For Immediate Release:

May 31st. Alien Hominid, the critically-acclaimed and award-winning independent game will be published on mobile phones in Europe by mobile entertainment distributor Player X.

Alien Hominid is a side-scrolling shoot-em-up in which the player assumes the role of an alien, crash-landed on Earth, who really wants his/her/its UFO back. The only problem is that between them there are hundreds of gun-toting, alien hunting men in black. Cue a full on frenzy of blasting, bouncing and bodies.

The combination of old-school action and Alien Hominid's unique hand-drawn, hand-animated style has already made the game a huge success. The original Flash version of Alien Hominid has to date been downloaded nearly 10,000,000 times. The game also picked up three out of the six awards at the 2005 Independent Games Festival in San Francisco.

Now the game is coming to java-enabled mobile phones throughout Europe. The game will be published by Player X and made available to all major mobile networks, portals and retail channels. The mobile version of Alien Hominid is being developed by Tuna Technologies. Alien Hominid is a collection of 4 minigames, linked by a storyline based around the original Alien Hominid story.

Ian Stewart, the CEO of Zoo Digital, said, "We are delighted to be working with Player X for the mobile version of Alien Hominid. The games popularity and fan base is growing all the time and will lend itself superbly to the mobile platform"

Tony Pearce, the CEO of Player X, said, "Alien Hominid is a perfect game for mobile phones. It's colourful, fun and has huge appeal through it's old school gameplay and cartoon style violence. A recent report from Mobile Games Analyst showed that the in the UK market at least, simple, mass-market and retro games are the biggest sellers. Alien Hominid fits all of these categories and we're looking forward to introducing it to many more millions of players on mobile phones."

The mobile phone version of Alien Hominid will be released on May 23rd 2005.
