- Secured the exclusive IP license to publish Freddie Flintoff content for mobile
- Endorsed by cricketing hero Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff
- Launching strategically during the first Test at Lords at the end of July 2005
(London, June 13th 2005) - Player One Limited, leading global publisher of games and content for mobile phones, is delighted to announce it has secured the exclusive global wireless rights to publish Freddie Flintoff content for mobile.
Fully endorsed by the charismatic all rounder and cricketing hero, Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff, the license will see the Freddie Flintoff Blast 'Em Cricket java game launched exclusively by Vodafone during this Summers' first Test at Lords on the 21st July. The content will be compatible with most java enabled handsets and will become available across all networks from late Summer 2005.
Freddie Flintoff is a hard hitting, fast bowling, larger than life character who has developed into the fans' favourite. Already established as one of England's cricketing greats, he has worked up to 90mph pace with the ball and has eclipsed Ian Botham's six-hit record for one-day internationals, in half the number of matches.
Pete Russell, Managing Director for Player One, commented, 'Player One is extremely excited about the acquisition of this license. Freddie Flintoff is one of the great names in International sport. If England is successful this summer you can be sure that Freddie would have played his part and excited all who watch him. We are backing this launch with a comprehensive PR and Marketing campaign and expect the Freddie Flintoff Blast 'Em cricket java game to be the top title in its genre this year'.
Player One's rapidly expanding library of high profile sports branded content already includes the successful java games 'Michael Vaughan's International Cricket', 'Manchester United 6-a-side soccer', 'Phil 'The Power' Taylor Darts', 'The Grand National' and the recently launched 'Frankie Dettori's Horse Racing'.
