New UK gaming league with venues across the UK and £30,000 up for grabs in the open beta.
Friday 6th August: Today marks the next stage in the evolution of UK gaming as “Play The Gamer” moves into Open Beta and welcomes more venues to it’s league.
£30,000 is up for grabs in PTG’s Beta league, labelled Season One, and is open to venues and players from across the UK. 20 venues are already involved in hosting PTG evenings for Season One including Varsity Plymouth, Walkabout Lincoln and The Dog Inn, Burton-On-Trent.
Using a simple league structure the designated PTG venues will be hosting evenings for FIFA 10, Need for Speed Shift and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox 360. Each game will be played in a weekly rotation over a 12 week period to determine who is crowned the venue champion and who qualifies for the Regional Finals. 4 Players from each venue (one for each game and an overall venue champion) will qualify for a Regional Final and have a shot at making it all the way to the National Final and the chance to play for the £30,000 prize fund.
PTG are also pleased to announce the launch of their new website with enhanced functionality making it far easier for players to register, find their local PTG venue and start playing.

Not sure if there is a venue near you? Check the venue listing on the website to see where the closest one is and if there isn’t one near you make sure to get a local venue involved so you can start playing!
Got a venue and want to get in on the action? PTG is always looking for new venues to give local players a place to play so give us a call. New venues will receive 2 crates of Kick Energy Drink as a registration gift and a listing in the Big Pub Guide directory.
