Over 1000 products to go on show at E3

More than 1000 computer and videogames-related products will go on show at this year's E3, according to a survey by organiser the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).

May 18-20 will see over 400 exhibitors displaying their wares in the LA Convention Center, with 81 per cent of products on display slated for a release by Christmas.

ESA also asked the 300 exhibitors taking part in the survey to identify their top level products. Action Adventure games make up the majority with 19 per cent, followed by RPGs and sports and driving games with 13 and 11 per cent respectively.

"The more than one thousand products debuting at E3Expo 2005 are examples of the innovation and creativity that will drive industry growth in the coming year," said ESA president Douglas Lowenstein.

The association also commissioned a separate survey of consumers, which revealed that 90 per cent of those questioned were aware of the event. Half said they relied on news and other information generated by the show to make purchasing decisions.
