Non-stop entertainment: GC freestyle turns night into day

GC (Games Convention) 2007

(23 - 26 August 2007)

Leipzig, 25 May 2007

This year's GC (Games Convention) will be even more exciting than ever. From 22 to 26 August, the Leipzig Fair is for the first time offering an open-air summer festival, the "GC freestyle". In the immediate vicinity of the Exhibition Centre, visitors can enjoy exclusive live concerts, a range of sporting activities and their own open-air swimming pool. A campsite will be available for staying overnight. One-day tickets cost 43 euros, five-day tickets 130 euros. As well as entitling holders to admission to the GC and the GC freestyle area, tickets are also valid for the use of local public transport.

Fans of German rock music are in for a special treat. Three young German music groups Madsen, Revolverheld and Virginia Jetzt! will all take to the GC freestyle stage on the Thursday evening. Scene bands are also expected on the other evenings, ensuring entertainment through the night.

The sports zone is just the thing for those who need to get moving after a tiring day at the fair. Apart from streetball and beach volleyball, many other sporting activities are available to GC freestylers. It's more peaceful in the chillout area, with relaxing chillout music and a delightfully refreshing dip in the swimming pool.

The GC is Europe's number one fair for interactive entertainment, infotainment and hardware. Around 390 exhibitors are expected to occupy the Leipzig Exhibition Centre from 23 to 26 August. All in all, 115,000 square metres (2006: 90,000) are available to game fans. The GC is open on Thursday and Sunday from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.. On the Friday and Saturday, the exhibition halls for the general public are open till 8.00 p.m.. Further information is available at www.gc-germany.com.
