Nokia donates prizes to Trueplayerz charity games tournaments

Nokia have joined the growing list of companies supporting the Trueplayerz charity events by donating £2000 worth of Nokia 6681 phones as prizes

Launched by British fashion label Joystick Junkies and sponsored by UK Online the monthly Trueplayerz events bring people together to play the latest games, win cash for charity and score great prizes for themselves. The unique concept is that people pay to play and the winner of the tournament gets to choose which charity receives all the proceeds.

Nokia joins a growing list of UK games companies who are generously supporting the events by providing thousands of pounds worth of prizes for competitors to win. The list of companies includes UK Online, EA, Capcom, Eidos, Atari, Konami, Activision, Madcatz, Saitek, Guillemot, Joytech, Radica, Xbox, Koch, Take 2, THQ, Exspect and Sega with lots more still to be announced.

Nokia's donation is making the prize packages even more tempting for UK gamers - with pairs of finalists at each of the next three events set to walk home with a pile of games, a FIF A 2006 iPod Shuffle, a one year UK Online 8 Meg broadband account worth over £450 and a Nokia 6681 phone worth over £300.

The Nokia 6681 Imaging Smartphone features as 1.3 megapixel camera, high-speed browsing, convenient email access, music player, Nokia XpressPrint printing and more.

You'll also be able to drive, kick, shoot or score your way to stardom, as music and entertainment channel, TMF, will be filming at Trueplayerz on Sunday 25th September. TMF will also be screening an exclusive preview of the brand new TV series Game One, airing every Sunday at 3.30pm. The channel will be giving an exclusive Game One iPod cover to all competitors.

Players will have a choice of what to compete on with three of the Autumn's top new releases including Burnout Revenge, FIFA 2006 and an exclusive for Trueplayerz; Battlefield 2 (Modern Combat) all on Xbox, as well as the classic 2D beat 'em up action of Capcom Fighting Jam.

You can pick up flyers in Gamestation stores around London whilst the events are also being supported by top gaming site GamesRadar.com and Games Master magazine.
