No Codemasters games on show at E3

UK publisher Codemasters will not be demonstrating any of its games at E3 this year, but does have a "big announcement" pending.

UK publisher Codemasters has confirmed that it will not be showcasing any games at this year's E3 trade show.

According to Richard Eddy, head of global communications, E3 is "not the right platform" for the company's current titles, as they are not targeted at the North American market.

"The majority of the product that we'd normally show at this time of year is predominantly aimed at Europe - Worms 4, Brian Lara International Cricket and so on - and so we won't be presenting a showcase at E3," Eddy told GamesIndustry.biz.

Instead, the company plans to "take presentations direct to retail in a roadshow for one-on-one briefings" over the summer.

Codmasters has also planned "a series of specific press events for greater focus and more detailed hands-on away from the noise of E3," Eddy added.

However, the announcement doesn't mean Codies won't be putting in an appearance at the show at all.

"We've hired a meeting suite at E3 for international sales and third-party acquisitions," said Eddy, hinting that a "big announcement" would be made tomorrow. GamesIndustry.biz will be first with the news.
