Nitrogen SDK

Offered free to indie developers interested in using same social networking features as Penny Arcade Adventures Episode Two.

For Immediate Release

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Oct. 27, 2008 - Greenhouse Interactive today announced that the Nitrogen Software Development Kit (SDK) is now available free of charge to independent developers seeking to enhance their games selected for the Greenhouse digital distribution service ( www.playgreenhouse.com). Major tools offered in Nitrogen include the social networking functionalities of 'triumphs' and 'standings,' which will allow developers to reward players for their in-game accomplishments and then display them for the rest of the Greenhouse gaming community.

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two, scheduled to launch this Wednesday for Windows®, Mac® and Linux®, will be the first title on the service to implement the new Nitrogen SDK and offer gamers triumphs and standings to enhance their gameplay and Greenhouse community experience.

"We recognize that gamers expect these features in standard retail games, so why not in indie games as well?" said Greenhouse's Vlad Ceraldi. "But, in a crowded gaming world of achievements and trophies, it's inevitable that all of the good words are gone. We've just snatched the last few that make any sense, so 'good luck' to anyone else looking to offer something similar."

"To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time anyone's offered these kinds of in-game reward and integrated community features on the Mac and Linux platforms," added Greenhouse's Robert Khoo. "In fact, triumphs and standings are only the beginning. There's so much more in the works with Nitrogen that we just haven't found the vocabulary for yet. Stay tuned."

Developers interested in Greenhouse Interactive opportunities and the Nitrogen SDK can contact Greenhouse business development manager Gregan Dunn (gdunn [at] playgreenhouse.com) for more information.
