Yet another new version of the GBA SP hardware is set to be launched in Europe, with Nintendo preparing to kick off summer with a "Tribal" design, influenced by popular tattoo styles, launching on June 18th.

The console, which will be available for a limited period only and is priced the same as other GBA SP models, is largely the same as the popular Silver model but features a set of black designs which, the company says, are influenced by Polynesian and Indian culture.

It's a design which is squarely aimed at older kids and young adults, a demographic in which the GBA has enjoyed significant success since the launch of the clamshell SP model of the console.

The "cool" credentials of the new Tribal design are confirmed by a soundbite from the dubiously named Mister Cartoon, who has tattooed designs onto the famous skin of the likes of Eminem, 50 Cent and Beyonce, who describes the design as "pretty cool" in Nintendo's press release and goes on to say that it'll be a huge success with "the more individual gamer."

No information is available as yet regarding a possible launch for the Tribal GBA SP in territories outside Europe.
