New interactive media publishing company founded

Worms, Germany, 21st of August 2006

Today, the new publishing company for interactive entertainment, Kalypso Media GmbH was founded in the City of Worms, Germany.

Kalypso Media is planning to release Computer-, Video- and Mobile Games targeted for the mass market and casual gamers. About 10 different titles for PC and Mobile platforms shall be released until Christmas in Germany and other European territories.

"Our focus is on casual games and titles matching with obvious mass market requirements, such as strong licenses and popular topics. Therefore, we will release highly interesting contents until the end of the year - our complete portfolio will be announced shortly." Says Simon Hellwig, Managing Director of Kalypso Media GmbH

Kalypso Media has been founded by Simon Hellwig, former Managing Director of Blackstar Interactive and owner of the license trading company HEMETRA, and Stefan Marcinek, an experienced industry veteran specialised on publishing and interactive marketing. He also owns the private publishing label "Comport Interactive".

"It is our task to explore a huge group of non-gamers and I think our launching titles are choosen carefully and have great potential to fulfill the expectations to reach this task," explains Stefan Marcinek.

The complete line-up will for the 4th Quarter 2006 will be announced shortly. Kalypso Media GmbH is actually in negotations with distributors in several countries to bring the titles on the shelves.
