New client for Time of Defiance
For immediate release
Cambridge, England, December 3rd 2004 - Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games developer, Nicely Crafted Entertainment, has today shipped a new game client release for their campaign-based MMO RTS, Time of Defiance.
The new client features 2 new units suggested by players as part of a research and development competition that ran this summer.
"We've always supported our community closely through innovative approaches such as the third party development interface", explains Toby Simpson, Managing Director. "We created the R&D competition to expand the product creatively using the myriad of cool ideas from our players. We hoped to find one new unit, and ended up with the two and a selection more planned for early 2005."
The release also contains several additions to the game along with a new noticeboard system and improved chat areas in the central Eighth House.
In addition, this is the first time the new Time of Defiance update server will be used for the delivery of an entire client to our existing community making it even easier for them to try out the new features in the game.
Time of Defiance is a unique campaign based MMO-RTS where players can actually win. Its online nature makes it a perfect fit for the Two Degrees Network. The game combines the intrigue of playing with hundreds of others in a 3D universe with all the elements of a traditional real time strategy game in exciting 4 week space combat campaigns. Players guide the destiny of their own empire by battling other empires for control of islands left over from a shattered planet and the vital resources they contain. Because your empire remains persistent through each game campaign you survive, treachery, propaganda, alliances, and trade are just as important in Time of Defiance as your fighting strategy.
Real time strategy gamers will enjoy the resource management, fleet and equipment building, space exploration, and of course, the ultimate battle for land and glory.
Time of Defiance is available in stores now across North America and both the game and a 8 day demo account are available for download at www.nicelycrafted.com with monthly subscriptions for $9.99 per month.
