SAN MATEO, Calif. — November 25, 2008 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, announced that Neopets® Puzzle Adventure shipped to retailers nationwide today for Nintendo DS™ and the Windows® PC platform. A perfect game for any member of the family this holiday, Neopets Puzzle Adventure combines the hugely popular virtual world of Neopets® with a variety of favorite puzzles based on the classic games of Reversi and Go. For Neopets fans, this game is the perfect extension of the world of Neopia® as players will be able to earn codes throughout the DS and PC game that connect back to the Neopets website.
In the fun and addictive game, players can either battle a friend or the enemy character to take control of the board by surrounding and flipping opponents tokens in their favor. Neopets Puzzle Adventure is rated E by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and carries a suggested retail price of $29.99 for DS and the PC. Based on the deep storylines of Neopets, Neopets Puzzle Adventure takes puzzles to the next level as its development is being handled by Capcom and Infinite Interactive, creators of the very popular Puzzle Quest™. Set to launch this holiday season, Neopets Puzzle Adventure will appeal to both puzzle fans and the Neopets devotee as players will be able to earn codes throughout the DS and PC game that connect back to the Neopets website. Up to 10 codes per platform can be unlocked by achieving certain goals and completing quests related to the story. These unique codes will allow players to unlock exclusive items back in their virtual world on neopets.com.
For gamers that prefer their puzzles portable, the DS version – developed by Griptonite® Games – will also include an additional quick draw mini game utilizing the Nintendo DS stylus and local wireless connection so players can grab a friend for the ultimate Neopets showdown!
