NEoN 2010

Expanded speaker line-up unveiled for next month's conference in Dundee.

Organisers of one of the country’s biggest international digital arts festivals, NEoN, are urging people to move quickly if they want to take part in this year’s conference.

The popular NEoN Conference is part of the seven-day festival, featuring moving image, performance, music and technology-driven arts, and plays host to some of the country’s leading figures within the world of digital art and digital media.

NEoN has a growing reputation in the industry as a groundbreaker in showcasing some of the world’s best digital arts and, as a result, there has been a higher demand for conference tickets this year, say organisers.

The two-day conference will feature a cross sector of inspirational speakers from the world of gaming, digital media and technology-driven arts. The format for both days will be a morning of speaker presentations with networking opportunities, along with afternoon sessions with some of today’s most exciting professionals.

NEoN recently unveiled the latest additions to its impressive line up of confirmed delegates, including Chris Van der Kuyl of Bright Solid, who will act as welcome host.  The list of speakers includes Ian Livingstone from EIDOS, Ian Anderson from Designers Republic and artist/entrepreneur, Lars Denicke, who will stimulate debates around development, design and digital character play.

The conference is aimed at exchanging knowledge in key areas such as new business models, digital developments and latest production techniques. It will expand on the notion that art, digital media and games communities can come together to explore new collaborations and open up new levels of opportunities.

NEoN will showcase new technology, new software and new art forms that will have a developmental and cultural impact and will encourage growth in many areas.

Further information and the full line up of speakers and delegates involved with the NEoN conference can be found on the NEoN website.

The NEoN conference will take place in the Centre of Excellence, University of Abertay, Dundee on Thursday, 11 November and Friday, 12 November, between 9.00 am and 6.00 pm and tickets are available for booking now at  http://www.northeastofnorth.com/tickets/.
