NAMCO BANDAI Games Pull No Punches with PlayStation 2 Fighter on Schedule for November Release Across Europe

LYON, FRANCE - 18 October 2006 - Atari today announced that development is complete on Naruto: Ultimate Ninja for PlayStation®2 from BANDAI NAMCO Games Europe and the ninja fighting title is on schedule for release across Europe in November 2006. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja is based on the hit anime TV series and is more than ready to take on other PS2 fighters with its good looks, brilliant gameplay touches and furious ninja battling.

Players take the role of any one of 14 familiar faces from the anime, including Naruto Uzumaki, the young ninja-in-training himself, his two ninja-school classmates Sakura and Sasuke, as well as hidden characters to unlock along the way. Featuring a strong visual style and a wide variety of gameplay modes - story, mission, practice and free battle - Naruto: Ultimate Ninja takes players deep into the story of Naruto, with dialogue, missions, and blistering one-on-one fights against in-game opponents or friends in two player multiplayer mode.

Featuring eight fighting stages, four additional unlockable stages, special moves and unlockable combos for each character, an abundance of interactive and destructive obstacles on each of the fighting arenas, and non-gameplay modes including Naruto's house and the shop where players can stock up on in-game special items, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja delivers a fully featured experience packed with gaming goodness.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja stays true to its anime roots with gorgeous cel-shaded graphics, while driving the fighting genre into the future with a multitude of inspired details and gameplay features which will set the pulse racing of any fighting game fan.
