Namco Takes The World Of "Mage Knight" Portable With "Destiny's Soldier"

Turn-based Strategy Based on The WizKids Collectable Miniature Game Finds its Destiny on the Nintendo DS(TM)

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (November 17, 2005) - Leading video games developer and publisher Namco Hometek Inc. announces "Mage KnightTM: Destiny's Soldier," a turn-based strategy game for the Nintendo DSTM. Based on the best-selling collectable miniature game from WizKids® Games, "Mage Knight: Destiny's Soldier" offers intuitive touch screen controls and gameplay true to the popular tabletop gaming franchise. "Mage Knight: Destiny's Soldier" will have players embark on an epic journey where they must gather, build and customize an army of their very own. Players will take destiny into their own hands in Spring 2006.

In a world ravaged by war, a retired soldier is forced to take up arms once again. The Solonavi are corrupting the Land, and a great army of warriors must be gathered to stop them. It is this soldier's destiny to bring these warring factions together and fight against the Solonavi. His army is the Land's only hope to prevent its total devastation. Players assume the role of Destiny's Soldier, creating and commanding an army of their own to defeat the Solonavi and bring peace back to the Land.

"'Mage Knight: Destiny's Solider' should appeal to those familiar and unfamiliar with the Mage Knight franchise," said Jeff Lujan, business director at Namco Hometek Inc. "The sheer amount of storytelling, strategy gameplay, and army customization is a testament to how deep and rich the Mage Knight universe really is. We are very excited to bring this unique and innovative tabletop gaming experience to the Nintendo DS."

"'Mage Knight: Destiny's Soldier' is exactly what we had envisioned Mage Knight on the Nintendo DS to be," said Jordan Weisman, CEO of WizKids. "We are pleased to license our intellectual property to a company that understands and appreciates how special it really is."

"Mage Knight: Destiny's Soldier" is an exciting and innovative gaming experience that stays true to its collectable miniature gaming roots. With the use of the touch screen controls on the Nintendo DS, players can virtually pick up units, deploy them, issue commands and roll dice just like they would in the tabletop game. Players will have a variety of different ways to experience and enjoy Mage Knight on their Nintendo DS.
