Namco Mobile Expands Development Team

October 11th. Namco Europe's Web & Mobile Content Division (WMC) today announced the appointment of Kaarlo Kananen to the newly created position of Development Engineer.

Kaarlo who was born in Finland brings with him a solid background in the games industry. He previously worked as Senior/Lead Programmer at Housemarque where he was working on technology R&D and development of games for different platforms such as PC, Microsoft X-box and Nokia N-Gage.

John McKenzie, head of Namco's European WMC division, commented: "This is an important appointment for WMC as we look to strengthen the engineering and technical expertise within the European business. There are some exciting projects that will be undertaken over the next 12 months by Namco WMC including the introduction of 3D games on mobile handsets and therefore it is important that we have the required expertise and resources in-house to work with these projects".

Kaarlo added: "I am tremendously excited to be joining Namco, not only is it an internationally recognised brand with over 30 years of video games history, but also stands at the leading edge of games technology with some of the best R&D in the business."
