MOMENTUM PICTURES ENTERS THE UMD MARKET WITH TWO CLASSIC TITLES

YOUR FAVOURITE FILM, IN YOUR POCKET!

Momentum Pictures is to release two of their most popular classic film titles on the UMD (Universal Media Disc) format on 1 September 2005, the same date as the PSP (PlayStation Portable) handheld entertainment system launches in the UK. The first UMD format films to be released by Momentum Pictures will be the gritty hard-hitting brit-flick The Football Factory and the dark destructive sci-fi masterpiece Equilibrium.

THE FOOTBALL FACTORY is a violent and humorous snapshot of the infamous Chelsea Headhunters. Based on the best-selling novel by John King and produced by award winner Allan Niblo (Human Traffic). The film stars the talented young Brit Danny Dyer (Human Traffic) as well as Frank Harper (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels & Bend it Like Beckham).

The film is a study of loyalty, football violence and male culture. The story centres around Tommy Johnson, a bored twenty-something who lives for the weekend, casual sex, watered down lager, heavily cut drugs.... and occasionally kicking the f*ck out of someone. Tommy's life ambles along until a violent encounter with a rival firm starts a war and a series of nightmares force him to question his life: is it worth it?

Told through Tommy's eyes and linked together by his relationships with three other generations of males, THE FOOTBALL FACTORY is a drug fuelled adrenaline rush of a story about friendship, revenge and violence. This could be England's worst nightmare. Enjoy it.

"A nose-bursting blow to the senses - totally infectious" Loaded

EQUILIBRIUM on the other hand, transports you to a future where the world is at peace but emotions are gone. With an all-star line up of A-list Hollywood stars including Christian Bale (American Psycho, Batman Begins), Taye Diggs (Chicago, House on Haunted Hill) and Emily Watson (Red Dragon, Gosford Park), and featuring cameo performances from Sean Bean and Sean Pertwee.

In the world of EQUILIBRIUM, war is a distant memory, as is music, art and poetry. Here, emotion is illegal and feeling is a crime punishable by death. Cleric John Preston (Christian Bale) is the government agent responsible for destroying those who resist the rules, but when forced to kill one of his own agents, begins to question everything. Now the man who has been trained to enforce the strict laws becomes the only person capable of overthrowing it.

"A film which delivers more bang per buck than any

movie has for years" - Impact

Momentum Pictures Product Manager, Adam Eldrett, enthused "The format has done well across both Japan and the USA, so we are looking for continued success across the UK. Looking at the demographics of PSP sales in the USA, we feel that both the Football Factory and Equilibrium match up well with those of the early adopters. These releases will be followed up with Quentin Tarantino's cult classic Reservoir Dogs (Early September). We are committed to embracing the format in the coming months and we hope to have a few surprises up our sleeve. I believe these films will be a success on the UMD format and as a company we are very excited about the future possibilities of this format."

In addition to gaming, the Sony PSP allows consumers to view movies, listen to music and download files. Momentum Pictures will take advantage of the PSP's high-resolution screen and the UMD's high capacity (1.8 gigabytes) to give film fans across the country the chance to enjoy some of their favourite films wherever they choose take their PSP.
