MobilePets series a success, says Cellufun

Users now number 500,000

Cellufun has announced that the number of players for its MobilePets series has now topped 500,000 worldwide.

The company has just unveiled the latest instalment in the series, MobilePet myPhone - a WAP-based game which is available to play free of charge.

Players must look after their pets by feeding and entertaining them, earning points for their work. They can also download music from the Cellufun catalogue for their pets to enjoy, and are rewarded when friends pay a visit.

Scores can be uploaded so that players can see how well they're doing compared to other pet carers. Each month the top scorer will win an iPhone.

Since it launched in April last year, Cellufun's mobile gaming social network - which is funded through advertising - has racked up 4 million downloads.
