Digital Media Wire has announced the launch of a new exclusive event called Mobile Games Insider.
Produced with the support of I-play, Nokia, and Qualcomm, Mobile Games Insider will highlight opportunities and draw awareness to challenges in the USD 3.3 billion mobile games industry.
"While most of the media attention is focused on the PC and console games markets, we believe that there is a huge opportunity in mobile games," said Digital Media Wire CEO and publisher Ned Sherman, co-chair of the event.
"This event is designed to focus attention to this growing sector, which is estimated to reach USD 10 billion by 2009, and bring together the industry's key leaders for an intimate gathering to discuss the opportunities and challenges before them."
Confirmed speakers include I-play CEO David Gosen, IDC Consumer Markets games manager Billy Pidgeon, Glu Mobile CEO Greg Ballard, Jamba CEO Lucy Hood, Nokia's director of games technology and strategy Dr. Mark Ollila, Qualcomm Internet Services Gaming Group senior director Mike Yuen, and Wedbush Morgan Securities Entertainment Software research managing director Michael Pachter.
Mobile Games Insider will be held in Santa Monica, CA on July 10, the eve of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.
