Mobile games creation contest extended

Influx of UK entrants prompts deadline extension

Movilgamers.com and Stratos-Ad.com has extended the deadlines for the first ever mobile games creation competition, following an overwhelming surge of interest from English-speaking applicants.

As previously reported by mobileindustry.biz, the competition is open to both existing commercial studios and new talent looking for a foot in the door of the mobile gaming industry.

Prizes, divided into categories for quiz games and all other innovative titles, include a cash prize of EURO 2000 and the opportunity to sign a one-year contract with publisher Silicon Seeds. Runners-up prizes include a commercial publishing contract worth EURO 2000.

Movilgamers.com has now introduced a dedicated presentation with contest rules, prize details and an online registration form written in English, which is available at the company's website.

To compensate for the increased volume of applications and the practicalities of introducing an English version, the competition deadlines have been extended to allow all interest parties to apply.

Initial registration needs to be completed by November 30th, and final projects are to be submitted by January 30th, 2006. The entries will be judged and winners revealed on February 15th, 2006.
