MOBILE GAMERS VOTE ANIMAL AS UK'S FAVOURITE MUPPET

Pocket Gamer.co.uk Hails Animal as UK's Favourite as The Muppets Arrive on Mobile Phone

Manic Muppet drum roll please A survey published on PockerGamer.co.uk today revealed that mobile gamers have voted for Animal - the Muppet drummer inspired by rock musicians of the 1960s, including Keith Moon - as the UK's favourite Muppet, with a third of all votes cast. The Great Gonzo and his shiny trumpet came second with 21 per cent and Fozzie Bear came a close third with 19 per cent of all votes cast. The survey was commissioned by the Walt Disney Internet Group to mark the launch of Muppets Dance Party - an original and entertaining take on the classic dance game genre - aimed at all the family, casual and frequent mobile phone gamer alike. Across 1,000 votes, the full vote breakdown was as follows: - Animal - 33 per cent - The Great Gonzo - 21 per cent - Fozzie Bear - 19 per cent - Kermit the Frog - 15 per cent - Miss Piggy - 5 per cent - Waldorf - 3 per cent - Statler - 1 per cent "Animal has always been one of the most popular Muppets and his charisma and raw energy really shine through in Muppets Dance Party," commented Sunil Gunderia, vice president of mobile, the Walt Disney Internet Group Europe. "Muppets Dance Party is a great mobile game that will appeal to all the family." Featuring all The Muppet favourites, including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, The Great Gonzo, Animal and Fozzie Bear, Muppets Dance Party sees the cast thrown off their own show and having to compete in dance auditions to get back on. The Muppets are given dance performance ratings and detailed player feedback, as well as trademark insults from the disgruntled duo Statler and Waldorf, the original grumpy old men of The Muppet Show. No wonder they received so few votes. Muppets Dance Party is available now on www.muppetsmobile.co.uk and across O2, Orange and T-Mobile.
