Mobile game development competition announced

Cash prizes and commercial publishing contract up for grabs

Movilgamers.com and Stratos-Ad.com has announced the first competition for the creation and development of mobile games, with entrants vying for cash prizes and an exclusive publishing contract.

Open to existing mobile game developers as well as creative enthusiasts looking to get a foot in the door of the mobile industry, the deadline for registration has been set for November 15th. A list of participants and their intended projects will be announced on this date, and all competition entrants will then have until January 15th, 2006 to submit their work.

The competition will be judged in two categories: Quiz Games (trivia, quiz, puzzle etc) and Free Games (any other genre including action, strategy, role-playing etc.). Winners in both categories will receive a cash prize of EURO 2,000, as well as the opportunity to sign a contract with Silicon Seeds, for the commercial publication of their game.

Runners up who place within the top 5 in each category will also be offered the chance to sign a development and publishing contract with Silicon Seeds, so there's plenty of incentive to enter.

Movilgamers.com has launched the competition in a bid to encourage new development of mobile games across all genres, and hopes that the prizes on offer, particularly the Silicon Seeds publishing contract, will inspire budding games developers and existing studios alike. More details and competition rules can be found at the company website, www.movilgamers.com
