MOBILE DISTILLERY ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF AWARD-WINNING
J2ME PORTING SOLUTION : CELSIUS V3.5
- New Version of Celsius Extends Ease of J2ME Porting To 350
Mobile Devices -
France - 4th July 06 - Mobile Distillery (
www.mobile-distillery.com), a specialist Java mobile porting
software company today announced the release of version 3.5 of
its award-winning Celsius J2ME Porting and Optimizing software
solution. Aimed at developers and publishers of J2ME mobile
applications, Celsius uniquely addresses the time and expense
associated with the porting of applications to more than 350
mobile devices. Celsius dramatically reduces porting time and
subsequently accelerates time to market by a factor of two to
three, giving customers competitive advantage as well as
significant cost savings. New features of Celsius V3.5 include:
Open & Plug-in architecture: ability for users to include
own APIs, classes or external resources Extensive Debug and
device monitoring tools: fully integrated with Sun's NetBean
Java development tool, debug tags, JAR/HEAP/RMS size
identification, etc. Powerful emulators: for testing HTTP
connectivity: accessing remote servers, eg. for "hi scores" or
databases. Porting applications is a major complication for
developers. For each new device which a developer wishes to
port to they need to make code changes and build specific
work-arounds. With up to 8 new mobiles being introduced each
month the problem keeps growing and has become a major
distraction to core application development. Mobile
Distillery's Celsius solution enables developers to put their
main focus on application development. Celsius has already
enabled more than 50 mobile games/applications to be produced
across multiple handsets, including the latest games from:
Finesse publishing, Recreate, TouchLink, Exkee, Lexis Mobile,
Wizarbox, Visiware. Celsius has also been used to extend the
reach of multimedia applications for Axellance, and Anxa, and
business applications for Mobilysim and Amadeus/Philips. Eric
Lemarechal, co-founder and CEO, Mobile Distillery said: "The
latest version of Celsius is the cumulative work of five years
technology development. As the number of devices proliferates
and the amount of post production work required to deliver
applications to operators increases, developers and publishers
need proven and reliable solutions to take care of
fragmentation. Significant effort has been put into V3.5 to
give developers more visibility to device level bugs and
characteristics along with the tools necessary to manage them."
For Publishers, Celsius provides an invaluable tool to manage
outsourced projects. Celsius V3.5 has a built-in Publisher
oriented Asset Management features, which give greater overall
consistency and the ability to clearly define specific
guidelines and settings to partner developers. Mobile
Distillery is holding a series of free Celsius V3.5 training
sessions for new and existing users in Marseilles - France, on
July 26 & 27. The sessions will focus on developing,
debugging and porting with Celsius V3.5, accelerating mobile
application timing-to-market and highlighting next generation
Porting tools. Registration for the event:
