Ministry of War

New server to be fired up today.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. December 6, 2010 – Following the highly successful launch of Ministry of War on November 17, Snail Games will open a new worldwide server on the evening of December 7, 2010.  The new server, Wrath, will launch with a series of in-game events designed to provide special prizes for the first players to plant a flag in Wrath’s virgin territory.

These events, including In-Glory-Us Bastards, Killing Spree, Head Hero in Charge, and Turf Wars, will reward players for their exploits in battle, for individual achievements of Heroes, Merchants, and Missionaries, plus numerous prizes for Guild and Civilization-wide accomplishments during the first two weeks of the server’s launch. Ministry of War is performing extremely well since launch; it’s exceeding expectations across multiple player categories. This game represents a totally new category of MMO browser game and we’re thrilled about the player response during the first few weeks,” says Jason Katz, CEO of Snail Games USA. “This is only the beginning of the evolution of the MoW universe and the players are the ones making history unfold in the game.”

Ministry of War is a historical-based MMO which represents a quantum leap forward in browser-game design and technology.  Players choose one of the world’s greatest Civilizations (Imperial Rome, Persia, Egypt, or China) and then build, battle, and trade their way to world domination. Players can also participate in the nightly Contested Zone (CZ) Wars. Every night, from 6-9 p.m. (PST)/9 p.m.-12 a.m. (EST), guilds from the different Civilizations challenge each other and fight for control of  more than fifty cities located in unclaimed areas of the world map (the “Contested Zones”).  Guilds hold these territories as long as they are able to withstand the massed assaults of rival Guilds and their individual allies from enemy civilizations in King-of-the-Hill style combat.  When a Contested City falls, the flag of the triumphant Guild flies over the city and the Ministry of War World Map will show the change in control.
