Microsoft debuts Live rewards program

Users earn bonus MS points from purchases and promotions

Microsoft is to see a Rewards program for its Xbox Live service, which doles out complimentary MS Points whenever users make certain purchases or actions.

The program, which launches later today, will for instance offer 200 points when a 12 month Xbox Live subscription is bought, 100 for activating Live's Sky service or 20 to "take a quick survey each month." The amount earned for Marketplace purchases "varies."

"Cool prizes" are also promised for participating in various future promotions.

Most of the rewards are limited to Gold members, although some are available to Free users in order to encourage purchases.

More details and sign-ups are available here.
