Metro Ski Challenge 2011

Ski jumps onto the iPhone and iPad.

“Ski Challenge” was originally released in 2004 as a 3D, free-to-download eSport game for Mac and PC. Today it is the most successful online multiplayer skiing game with more than 6 million players worldwide. The mobile version was previously launched in France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland where it has reached a number 1 App Store position in the free charts.

The game faithfully recreates 6 real-life ski courses in stunning 3D, such as the world-famous Val d’Isere in France, and uses sophisticated physics to navigate the course. The goal is to master these runs in offline training before you compete with other players around the world in an online high-score table.

The global iOS version of “Ski Challenge” is sponsored by Teletext Holidays, the DMGT Plc. holiday company, who are offering gamers a chance to win a 7-day holiday for two to Mayrhofen in Austria. Anyone who downloads the game before the 22 nd of February is automatically entered into this competition.

Jamie Walters, Digital Director of Metro UK: “Our urbanite audience love skiing, so for those who can’t get to the slopes this winter, Ski Challenge is the next best thing. It is a fantastic game and something our readers and users will love.”

Eberhard Dürrschmid, Managing Director of Greentube: ”We are very happy to extend our international partnerships with Metro Apps, a truly international player within the field of mobile entertainment.”

Mark Bloxham, Marketing Director of Teletext Holidays: “This will be a great way to connect our brand with game savvy skiers."
