Metro Apps Publishing Program
UK freesheet makes moves on mobile gaming sector.
LONDON - February 22, 2011
Mobile apps and games publisher Metro Apps today announced the official launch of its dedicated UK and European Smartphone Games publishing program. The move comes after successfully partnering with indie developers for global publishing and marketing campaigns, focusing on exposure in the mainstream media.
Providing developers with a unique opportunity to multiply their audience reach and revenues, the publisher now offers marketing support to engage audiences across its media footprint in the UK and Europe. Metro Apps is a division of FTSE 250 British media conglomerate DMGT Group, the owner of Daily Mail, Metro, MailOnline.com, FindaProperty.com, Jobsite.co.uk, Motors.co.uk and Teletext Holidays, providing access to over 60 million unique monthly visitors.
Metro Apps representatives are attending the Game Developers Conference 2011 in San Francisco and inviting leading smartphone developers, publishers and brands to meet and discuss publishing agreements that help to maximize the potential of their gaming portfolio. To arrange a meeting with Metro Apps at GDC between February 26th and March 5th, 2011, please contact Renate Nyborg, Head of Business Development, at: renate.nyborg@anmedia.co.uk.
Smartphone adoption in the UK has reached 33.6% (comScore Mobile Review 2010) and, along with Italy, Germany, Spain and France, accounts for the highest adoption rate outside of the US. Engaging with a dedicated UK and European marketing program through Metro Apps offers a distinctive opportunity to tap into these lucrative territories. Partners will gain access to the group’s extensive media reach, with highly targeted and impactful marketing campaigns that include print advertising, online banners, in-app promotions, mobile advertising, social media, PR, events and more. The program is available for paid, freemium, ad-funded or sponsored games, with a particular focus on the iOS platform and interest in supporting Android and RIM developers as well.
“The United Kingdom is one of the biggest markets for smartphone game sales and we have seen the immense impact of mainstream marketing on a mobile app’s success,” states Renate Nyborg, Head of Business Development, Metro Apps. “We are excited to partner with key players in the smartphone games industry to help expand reach into new European territories that engages new audiences and maximizes revenue streams. Yet, we also welcome indie developers to connect with us as we look to help introduce the next big hit on a global scale.”
