Media Molecule, Guerrilla Games, Funomena complete Nordic Game Conference line-up

Swedish developer conference has finalised its schedule with talks from Siobhan Reddy, Angie Smets and Robin Hunicke

The Nordic Game Conference has finalised its line-up with a trio of prominent industry figures: Media Molecule studio director Siobhan Reddy, Guerrilla Games executive producer Angie Smets, and Funomena CEO Robin Hunicke.

Siobhan Reddy will give a talk with the enigmatic title "Glitter and Doom Part Two", which will explore the relationship between creator and audience - which is apt, given the central role of user-generated content in Media Molecule's games.

Angie Smets will talk about the making of Horizon Zero Dawn, a seven-year journey that led to what is widely regarded as Guerrilla's finest ever game. Robin Hunicke will draw on a 15-year career spent pushing at the boundaries of game design to look at the future, in a talk called "Experimental Game Design - The Next Five Years."

Nordic Game Conference 2018, which takes place in Sweden later this month, has already announced a line-up rich in idie talent, including Gorogoa developer Jason Roberts and Chris Remo from Campo Santo, which recently became a part of Valve.

In addition to the line-up of speakers, NGC will also host the Nordic Game Awards, where MachineGames' Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Ultra Ultra's Echo are among the leading nominees. The Nordic Discovery contest will also reach its climax, with the winner announced at the show.

A completely new addition to the programme is the Games Capital Summit, an investment event specifically targeted at developers seeking VC funding. We talked to Jason Della Rocca, one of the summit's organisers, about the goals of the Games Capital Summit las month - you can read the article here.

The Nordic Game Conference takes place from May 23 to 25 in Malmo, Sweden. You can see the current speaker line-up here.

GamesIndustry.biz is a media partner of the Nordic Game Conference. We will attend the show with assistance from the organiser.
