Mean Green Fighting Machine Shrek butts into iDTV

AWARD-WINNING GAME DEVELOPER DENKI joins the quest alongside the world's favourite larger than life Hero – Shrek.

Denki is pleased to announce its completion of a trilogy of SHREK titles for Sky Gamestar. Based on the smash hit films, the fast-paced, action-packed fun takes place across gaseous Swamps, verdant Forests, volatile Volcanoes and the decaying ruins of the Old Castle Keep.

In Episode One "Fiona's Rescue", Princess Fiona is the prisoner of the spiteful Fairy Godmother. In Episode Two "Disarming Charming", the pompous Prince Charming carries on his mother's work hoping to succeed where she inevitably fails. And, in Episode Three "Fairy Godmother's Revenge" she's back with a new plan - to poison Shrek and lure Princess Fiona into her deadly trap!

Shrek and Fiona punch, kick, jump, smash, throw and use a generous helping of Magic to defeat a rabble band of Ogre-Hunting Peasants, Henchmen and Knights. And, with the surprise attacks of the pompous Merry Men ever looming, Shrek and Fiona must keep their wits about them to ensure success. That is, of course, if Donkey would Just Shut Up and let them concentrate!

Featuring a cast of Fairytale Creatures including Pinocchio, Puss-In-Boots and The Gingerbread Man, Shrek's greatest adventures are just beginning...

Commenting today, Denki's Managing Director, Colin Anderson said: "Brands don't come much bigger than Shrek, so it's wonderful that DreamWorks have identified Denki as a company with the right combination of skills to bring the brand to life, for the very first time, on the Interactive Television platform".

SHREK is live exclusively on Sky Gamestar as of Thursday the 15th of December 2005. Just press the INTERACTIVE button on your Sky Remote Control...

About Denki

SHREK is another pedigree release from the Denki stable.

Founded in 2000 by veterans of the console games industry, Denki is a digital toys and games company. Denki believes anything can be made fun to play with in digital form - no matter how constrained the technology. Denki toys are attractive, easy to pick up and fun to play with. The company is the creator of the multiple award-winning Denki Blocks!, winner of 'Overall Best Game of the Show' and 'Best Handheld Game of the Show' at ECTS 2001 and a BAFTA Award nominee in 2002.

Denki is a pioneer of gaming on interactive Digital Television (iDTV). In the past several years, the company has created a wide range of titles for Sky Television's Gamestar service, including many based on famous entertainment brands and licences.

Denki's branded iDTV catalogue includes: David Beckham, Super Breakout, Bust-A-Move, Pac-Man, HULK, Courage The Cowardly Dog, Sky Sports Darts, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Codename: Kids Next Door, Scooby-Doo, Thunderbirds, Tetris, Shrek, Boggle, Dexter's Laboratory, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Wallace & Gromit.

Denki has also created a range of original titles including Denki Blocks!, Caterpillar Crunch, Bips!, Word Crunch, Duopolis, Letter Box, Genie's Cave and Jumble Fever.

The company is continuing to explore the possibilities presented by new 'non-dedicated' platforms such as iDTV and mobile phones, as they present a real possibility of penetrating the mass-market like no other games technology before.

In 2005 Denki is exploring opportunities to take their unique experience and expertise out to a rapidly growing global market. The company is creating a dedicated new initiative to allow it to translate its market leading position within the advanced UK market into a similar position in the global iDTV industry.
