Mastertronic Group gains Momentum

Budget PC games publisher Mastertronic Group has appointed Momentum as part of plans to expand its export business, in a deal which covers the publisher's three value PC gaming brands.

Momentum director Adam Prichard will focus on taking the PC Gamer Presents, MAD and Sold Out ranges direct to retail in some territories, and via distribution partners in others.

"We have spent the last 18 months building the business in the UK and establishing the brands so that we are the number one unit selling PC value business," said Mastertronic MD Andy Payne.

"It is now time to consolidate our operations and invest resources in growing the export business."

Adam Prichard added: "It is an exciting challenge and I am looking forward to building on what we have achieved to date with the Sold Out brand. I am confident that these brands will be perfect for Europe."

Mastertronic has also announced that sales director Peter Ball is to take over UK management for PC Gamer Presents and MAD titles, adding them to the Sold Out portfolio.

"It makes perfect sense to offer two branded price points to our UK retail customers and consumers," said Ball. "I can't wait to get cracking with an even bigger portfolio."
