Mark Leung: Revenge of the Bitch

"Parody RPG" from Hong Kong available for download next week.

November 24, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HONG KONG – Independent game developer Mark Leung’s first full-length RPG will be available for download on November 30. “Mark Leung: Revenge of the Bitch” is the first episode in a series of parody role-playing games that has been dubbed by one critic as “Final Fantasy meets the Internet.”

Fans can get their first taste of the game today by downloading a two-hour demo from markleung.com. The full game will be available for download next week at a cost of just US$13.

Set in the vast world of Untitled, “Revenge of the Bitch” combines adventure and classic turn-based battle sequences with monsters ranging from adorable housecats to ruthlessly high pot-smoking purple monsters. The game features five playable characters and up to 30 hours of gameplay. Written, conceived and designed by Mark Leung, “Revenge of the Bitch” was developed in Hong Kong by a small group of young programmers, artists, musicians and actors.

The game opens with Mark Leung, a hapless ginseng collector who soon finds himself embroiled in a petty battle between two strange religions, all while enduring the wrath of an angry, obsessive ex-girlfriend. As he battles his way through Untitled, Mark and his companions must deal with a strange curse that has fallen over the land, turning anyone who does not eat vegetables into cockroaches.

“Revenge of the Bitch” is an independently-financed game built with the blood, sweat, tears and other bodily fluids of a small and slightly insane team of developers. In addition to designing all the monsters in the game, Mark Leung himself also provide voiceovers for most of them, wack-a-doodle!
