Mark Cantwell appointment

GamesRadar Network's new associate publisher.

03/06/09 – Future, the special-interest media group, has announced the appointment of Mark Cantwell to a newly created Associate Publisher role on its games portfolio.

Strengthening the senior management of its videogaming media brands, Mark Cantwell will work closely with Publishing Director James Binns and Future’s in-house developers, editorial and advertising teams to further increase the reach and influence of the company’s growing online games portfolio – with projects to step up video production and implement improved user profiles.

Future’s GamesRadar Network now attracts over 10m unique users a month across the globe. The network includes GameRadar.com ( www.gamesradar.com) , CVG.co.uk ( www.cvg.co.uk) and the games industry focused Edge-Online.com ( www.edge-online.com).

Mark Cantwell joins Future from games publisher THQ, where he was Digital Marketing Manager. Mark drove the company’s integration of digital communications into their overall media strategy – and the development of social media applications for games including the bestselling UFC Undisputed. Before working for THQ Mark spent three years at Future across the company’s digital advertising business – working for sites including BikeRadar.com and GamesRadar.com.

James Binns is Publishing Director of Future’s games portfolio:

“Mark will be a valuable addition to our senior team. In his year at THQ, Mark has grown his insights into the mechanics of the videogames industry and digital communications. With our portfolio of sites now attracting more than 10m unique users a month, we are committed to further driving growth – beginning with a major push around video content and social offers. Mark will be an essential part of this development and it’s great to have him back at Future.”
