Majesco set to publish Psychonauts

Reports in the US media have indicated that publisher Majesco has picked up the rights to Psychonauts, Doublefine Productions' promising Xbox platform title which was dropped by former publisher Microsoft earlier this year.

The title, which is the brainchild of former LucasArts man Tim Schafer, was cited as one of the most imaginative titles in the pipeline for the Xbox at one point - and received particular praise from former Microsoft Game Studios boss Ed Fries - but found itself without a publisher in March when Microsoft dropped it.

No further details of the Majesco deal have been revealed, but it's hoped that the company will confirm the destination platforms and release plans for the game in the coming weeks.
