Majesco opts for name, ticker change

US publisher Majesco Holdings Inc. has officially changed its corporate name to Majesco Entertainment Company.

In addition, the firm's NASDAQ symbol has been switched from MJES to COOL. The changes are designed to "more accurately reflect the company's identity as a diversified digital entertainment company." Majesco executives will mark the occasion by ringing the opening bell at the NASDAQ Market Site on April 13.

âWe believe that the name Majesco Entertainment Company is indicative of our strategy to provide innovative and appealing digital entertainment products to the consumer," said Majesco chairman and CEO Carl Yankowski.

"Furthermore, we believe our new ticker symbol COOL represents the unique culture and innovative spirit of Majesco.â

Based in New Jersey, Majesco's games portfolio includes the forthcoming Psychonauts and Advent Rising. The company also produces gadgets, such as the recent FroggerTV Plug and Play, and Game Boy Advance Video titles.
