Magnetis

French WiiWare magnet game now available for PC too, with marketing support from Creatips.

Released on WiiWare TM in September 2009, Magnetis can now count on Creatips to handle both its promotion and digital distribution for PC. Indeed, Yullaby’s puzzle-game is willing to attract a larger audience through new download platforms across the web.

Magnetis, an electric game powered by Yullaby

Established in 2006, French video game developer Yullaby demonstrates how experience, enthusiasm and creativity are far from being mutually exclusive. The studio is composed of five former employees from Gameloft, a leading publisher of mobile games (Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, Miami Nights, and Asphalt Urban GT). Today, the company is known for its first WiiWare TM achievement called Magnetis. In this game, you have to combine magnets of the same color to make blocks disappear. Chains are allowed to reach high-score rankings, just the way you did with Columns. This puzzle-game stands out from the others thanks to an accessible gameplay as well as excellent finishing touches.

According to Yullaby, storing up good reviews is not enough for Magnetis. “This positive feedback is most rewarding. As developers though, we would like the game to be available to the largest possible number, says game creator Etienne Perin. It is comforting to know we can count on professionals like Creatips to handle this lack of visibility”.

The role of Creatips

Creatips is a business tool brought by Zallag, a French video game publisher exclusively dedicated to digital distribution. Launched earlier this year, the service offers sales and marketing support to independent studios through a dedicated team. Creatips is seeking to help quality games find their audience with the help of a comprehensive professional network.

Founder of Creatips, David Costarigot does not hide his excitement. “We are proud to have the opportunity to support independent developers such as Yullaby, he says. Only one month after the service was launched, Magnetis is the first title to be part of our program. And what’s more, it is addictive, we really enjoyed playing it.”

Compared to the original game on WiiWare TM , the PC version offers an additional free access to an “outstanding soundtrack which alone is worth every penny.” (jeuxvideo.com)
