‘Xcelerators’ Debut on ForzaMotorsport.net

Series of Short Films Profile the Wide Range of Car Cultures in Forza Motorsport

April 19, 2005 - Microsoft Game Studios today announced the launch of "Xcelerators" - a series of five documentary-style short films that examine the wide range of car cultures represented in the highly anticipated and critically acclaimed driving simulator for Xbox, Forza Motorsport.

The Xcelerators films, now viewable and downloadable online at www.ForzaMotorsport.net, profile five segments of Forza Motorsport's car culture: American Muscle, Tuner Drift, Super Unlimited, Exotic Modified and European Motors. Each film stars real people - not actors - and takes an in-depth look at the groups' different cars, modification preferences and driving styles. While each culture has its own distinct characteristics, gamers and car enthusiasts will see that all five segments share a common passion for cars, racing, speed and competition.

The five short films that make up the Xcelerators, all powered by original music, are as follows:

American Muscle - Clark, Rusty and Amy aka "The Jerks"

Clark believes there is no substitute for cubic inches and no replacement for the speed and power of the V8. His 1969 Mercury Cougar's spray paint touch-ups clearly illustrate that his style is, "all go and no show." Welcome to the celebration of an era when the number of cubic inches was more important than the number of cup holders, and quarter mile times meant more than inches of ground clearance on your SUV.

Music: The Count Me Outs - Jefferson Hairplane

Tuner Drifter - RJ, Jerry and Dai

RJ has tuned his Acura NSX to perfection. The aftermarket kits he used not only have the flash of intimidation, but an engine that was designed to back-it-up. Dai, the Japanese drifter extraordinaire, is a cowboy on the track...literally.

Music: D Jon - Prodigy

Super Unlimited - Benoit

Benoit will take on anything that lines up next to him on the track. With both of his parents' history of competition behind the wheel, Benoit's DNA was engineered for nothing but racing. He lives in a constant state of tuning and refinement, but it's all worth it when it lands him in the winner's circle.

Music: Every Move A Picture - Signs Of Life

Exotic Modified - Dan and Virgil

Dan rocks a modified 700hp pure-power Porsche that will get him accelerating from 0 to 100mph in just 4.5 seconds. Virgil builds and modifies Porsches to deliver a kind of speed and horsepower that knows no rival.

Music: Boyjazz - Looking For You

European Motors - Martin and Paulo

Paulo has a passion for fine Italian cars. While he enjoys the masterpieces in European museums, to Paulo, the Ferrari is a fine sculpture itself. The sound a Ferrari's engine makes as it ignites is music to his ears. Martin is Paulo's crew chief, painstakingly tuning Paulo's 360 Modena to ensure that it performs with Formula One precision on the track.

Music: Daryl Stubbs - Duser

The Xcelerators documentaries are part of Microsoft Game Studios' integrated marketing campaign supporting Forza Motorsport entitled, "You are what you race." The campaign will reference the films in advertising, online and retail point-of-sale.

Forza Motorsport is slated to hit store shelves on May 3, 2005, for a suggested retail price of $49.99.
