LONDON LAUNCH FOR EYE CONTROLLED TECHNOLOGY

‘DASHER’ SOFTWARE DEMO AT SPECIAL NEEDS FRINGE SEMINAR

Tuesday 10th January 2006/... ESC-backed charity the ACE Centre will demonstrate its innovative software DASHER - which has been specially designed to help severely disabled people operate computers with their eyes - this Thursday (12th January) at London's Kensington's Olympia Hilton.

The word prediction software is operated on a special gaze machine and has been tested by a number of disabled people, unable to use a mouse or keyboard. With this software they can 'type' just as quickly and efficiently by moving their eyes.

Developed as part of the Dasher Eye Control Optimisation (DACO) Project, DASHER was created by Dr David McKay, from the Physics Department at Cambridge, in collaboration with Mick Donegan from the ACE Centre.

DASHER will be unveiled 4pm Thursday 12th January, with demonstrations by McKay and Donegan, followed by a question and answer session. Private demonstrations are available by appointment between 1pm and 4pm.

To book an appointment or for further information on DASHER please contact:
